VMU invites staff to apply for the Professional Development Fund

The Vytautas Magnus University Professional Development Fund is a targeted investment in the professional development of the academic and non-academic community. The VMU Professional Competence Development Center, in cooperation with national and international partners, offered 164 professional development events in 2025, including training courses, seminars, and other activities, to the University's academic and non-academic staff, representatives of other higher education institutions, and the general public. In order to meet the individual professional growth needs of the University community, VMU also provides opportunities to develop competencies at other Lithuanian and foreign institutions, taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the VMU Professional Development Fund.

Each year, the fund finances an average of twenty applications from VDU employees, and both academic and non-academic staff actively take advantage of the opportunities it offers. Funded applications: 15 in 2025, 18 in 2024, and 19 in 2023. According to Dr. Aistė Ragauskaitė, head of the VMU Professional Competence Development Center, employees choose highly qualified, long-term value-adding professional development activities that contribute not only to personal development but also to the professional competence development of the entire university community.
