Short description. Course participants study the structure of a comparative paragraph, a short descriptive text and a biographical statement, familiarize themselves with some useful phrases and practice applying the knowledge gained.

Learning structure
Aim. The course aims at assisting indendent users of English in acquiring competencies for writing well-structured short formal texts.
Content:
Structure of a paragraph;
Formal style of writing;
Principles of writing a comparative paragraph, a short descriptive text and a biographical statement.
Developed skills. Ability to write short formal texts in English.
Target group. VMU academic and non-academic staff.
Duration. 10 academic hours.
Place. The course will be held remotely. Web cameras and microphones are obligatory.
Professional development practices by groups of competencies. Group 1 - general (foreign languages, intercultural communication and cooperation, management, etc.).
The direction of professional development practices. Level B training programme (experienced) - for those wishing to develop and/or acquire new competencies or to maintain existing qualifications.
