Learning structure
Aim. The aim of the course is to help learners improve their academic writing skills by practicing paraphrasing strategies, identifying the most common mistakes in academic writing and expanding formal vocabulary. It introduces basic research writing skills including describing data, writing a summary of multiple sources, using tenses and voice in research reports. By the end of the course, learners will be able to write an abstract, presenting: (1) current research on their chosen topic; (2) research aims and methodology; (3) conclusion and recommendations.

Developed skills. By the end of the course, learners will be able to write an abstract in English, presenting:
current research on their chosen topic
research aims and methodology
conclusion and recommendations
Target group. VMU academic and non-academic staff.
Duration. 10 academic hours.
Place. The course will take place on MS Teams.
Professional development practices by groups of competencies. Group 1 - general (foreign languages, intercultural communication, and cooperation, management, etc.).
The direction of professional development practices. Level B training programme (experienced) - for those wishing to develop and/or acquire new competencies or to maintain existing qualifications.
