Learning structure
Short description. For all knowledge workers, business owners, and educators the ability to design and deliver a compelling presentation is probably the most essential skill. Whether you’re reporting your research results, delivering training, or presenting a big idea, you need a presentation to support you and illuminate your speech. This course will take you through the essentials of presentation design to give you some tools you'll find useful in building successful presentations. The lecturer will cover a variety of key topics, including outlines, layout, type and text, colour considerations, the language of transitions, and even writing numbers. We will conclude with some practical activities.
The objectives: to analyse the key elements of a successful presentation, to improve the planning process, preparation and delivery of the presentation, body language and responding to questions; to practise the presentation skills through games and teamwork activities.
Content:
Presentation of the essentials of presentation design;
Presentation of tools;
Practical activities.
Developed skills. Participants will improve presentation planning, designing and delivering skills as well as linguistic competence related to this topic.
Target group. VMU academic and non-academic staff.
Duration. 3 academic hours.
Place. The course will be held onsight.
Professional development practices by groups of competencies. Group 1 - general (foreign languages, intercultural communication, and cooperation, management, etc.).
The direction of professional development practices. Level B training programme (experienced) - for those wishing to develop and/or acquire new competencies or to maintain existing qualifications.
