Short description.
The “magic" of a truly talented speaker is not a gift but a skill—a powerful blend of character, innate eloquence, and a mastery of linguistic logic. These three elements are the modern-day interpretation of an ancient concept known as the Rhetoric Triangle, which is composed of three powerful appeals: Ethos, Logos, and Pathos.
This course is designed to take you beyond academic theory and provide students with the practical tools to become a more impactful and persuasive communicators.
Content.
Through hands-on activities, critical analysis of speech patterns, and video case studies, students will:
Deconstruct how a speaker’s credibility (Ethos), logical reasoning (Logos), and emotional appeal (Pathos) work together to create a compelling and cohesive message.
Master the art of crafting speeches that resonate with your audience on both an intellectual and emotional level.
Recognize the importance of ethical communication and learn to convey ideas convincingly and responsibly in any professional context.
Developed skills.
Academic English and public communication skills will be developed.
We will learn how to use language and various linguistic tools to persuade, inform, or engage our audience.
We will become familiar with linguistic methods that help to elicit a specific response from the audience.
