Description

Aim. The aim of this training is to help the participants to learn more about violence and harassment prevention, to recognize possible cases and know how to act when they arise. The training is also designed to familiarise with the bystander’s position and learn how to use this role for stopping any kind of abuse.

Learning structure

Short description.

The training is designed for VMU community members to learn more about the types and common forms of (sexual) harassment and psychological violence (mobbing). In addition, the audience will hear more about implementation of violence and harassment prevention (including sexual harassment, psychological violence, violence on the basis of gender, etc.,) at VMU.

This training is conducted as part of LUMA project (increasing gender equality and equal opportunities at the university) and in line with university’s policies for ensuring anti-discrimination, equal opportunities, respect for diversity and inclusivity.


Content.

It is an interactive, hands-on training that will engage participants in discussions, quick surveys and group work. Participants will take an active role analyzing situations and finding solutions to everyday life problems, related to violence and harassment at one’s workplace. 


Competences developed.

Participants will be able to easier recognise instances of violence and harassment, will know how to act in a victim's or a bystander's role, will better understand what are the most important steps to be taken in order to prevent our community members from any kind of discrimination, violence or abuse.


Target group. VMU staff, students and the public.

Duration2 hours.

Place. Online

Professional development activities by competence group. Group 1 - general (foreign languages, intercultural communication and cooperation, digital literacy, etc.)

Professional development activities by level. A-level training programmes (for beginners)
