Learning structure
Short description. As the Lithuanian language does not make use of the article, native speakers of Lithuanian tend to find it uneasy to understand the meanings of the English articles and distinguish between “a/an” or “the” when speaking or writing. This course aims at improving English language learners’ knowledge of the English articles and assisting them in developing their skills in using the definite and the indefinite articles in English. Course participants familiarize themselves with the history of the article in English, study the principal meanings of the articles, analyse various texts to understand how the articles are used and what meaning they convey and do various practical exercises. The course is designed for independent users of English (Levels B1 and B2).
